on the road like jackie k.

Our collective stream of consciousness begins...

Day I:

After a bad week of being sickly darlings, M and J hit the dusty trail.
The itinerary called for arrival in Columbus, Ohio at eleven o'clock and some change.

The weather was fine,
at first.

Physics homework was of interest: a midnight deadline.
Weather became rough out there on the open road. Security became daunting in M's mind, and J vocalized her dissatisfaction with the slushy snow.

A search for McDonald's with WiFi sent M and J on a wild sheep chase, and they would end up driving in circles, finding only one-way streets that were barely out of reach.

Little did M and J know that they would have one wild night in Huntington, West Virginia.

M is drinking wine and smoking cigarettes, relieved that the due date for Physics, by a fluke accident concerning internet technologies at a campus left far behind, will be postponed until further notice.

J is content fumbling around on Myspace, reading the status of a certain silly girl, listening to Bea Arthur do her best duet with Rock Hudson. She has taken the bed by force, lying sideways across it. She smiles.

Things are well.

The morning is sure to be early, and another 3 hours of driving will assuredly take place.

More soon. Stay tuned.
